Without the 2 or 3 pounds of bees to take care of her, the queen cannot survive and will die. These Instrumentally Inseminated breeder queens are not for running full size production colonies. This line of breeder queens comes directly from the work of Sue Cobey. Our breeder queens come with over 75% of Slovenian Carnica genetics and crossed with Sue’s New World Carnica or with other Carnica breeder stock. This stock shows quick build up, very calm in combs and shows an acute disease resistance. I had the privilege to see this stock while I attended the training program at Sue’s place. One of the very docile bees I have seen in my work with bees.
